Learning the Acoustic Guitar
The Acoustic Guitar Club offers lessons for any adult who wants to learn to play the acoustic guitar.
Working in a group, most beginners can pick up the basics quickly and even play a basic song within a few meetings. You will of course have to practice at home too and do your home work! – Training sheets will be supplied.

- How to hold a guitar pick.
- How to strum with a pick.
- How to strum without a pick.
- The Am Chord.
- The C Chord
- The D Chord.
- The G Chord.
- The Em Chord.
- Rhythm and strumming exercises with a Metronome.
- Strumming exercises using your first 5 chords.
- Song structure / Chord changes.
- Strumming with Chord transitions.
- Your first song using Am, C, D, G, Em Chords.
- The A Chord.
- The E Chord.
- The Dm Chord.
- Your second song.
- The F Chord.
- The Bm Chord.
- Your third song using Bm and F Chords.
- Working with Tablature (Tabs).
- Fretboard theory / notes.
- Using Barre “Bar” Chords.
What do I need before I join the Club?
Acoustic Guitar (always better if it has a strap and a bag/case)
Guitar tuner or guitar tuning phone App.
Guitar Picks (Plectrums).
Capo always useful.
